ARC's national conference is the highlight of the annual calendar. Combined with the ARC EXPO, the national conference provides delegates with the opportunity to learn from industry experts, focus on and discuss pressing issues in each community as well as to network with fellow industry professionals. ARC also hosts is annual golf day in conjunction with the national conference.

Apart from a 2-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ARC has hosted a conference every year since 2013 and the 2024 Conference will be our 10th annual event.

Some great memories have been made, and we hope you will join us for yet another successful annual conference in 2024!

For our most recent Conference in 2023, we returned to Paarl in the Western Cape, to Boschenmeer Golf Estate where our theme was Engaged Communities. We put a huge amount of emphasis on how to enhance engagement in our industry across all facets of our profession, which resulted in the most powerful conference programme to date. On top of this, delegates enjoyed the pristine Paarl Golf Club, a spectacular wine pairing event and first-class hospitality over the course of the 3-day event.

We were able to acknowledge 6 individuals (pictured below) who have attended every single one of our conferences since 2013!

The 2022 Conference allowed us to come together again for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic and national lockdown. The theme for the conference was "Be the Difference" where we explored how each individual can be the difference in the role they play, how the association can be the difference in their wider communities, how each community can be the difference in their roles and how the industry at large can make a difference.

Our 7th annual conference and expo took place at South Africa's own tropical paradise, San Lameer. Situated on the south coast of KZN, with direct access to beautiful beaches, San Lameer offered the perfect destination for our event, including a championship golf course and various accommodation options. 

Considered by many our best ever conference, San Lameer provided a venue with something for everyone, and a conference programme that encouraged engagement and big ideas to move our industry forward!

Our 6th annual conference and expo took place on 13 and 14 September 2018 at the beautiful and newly relaunched Serengeti Estates, while the ARC Annual Golf Day was held on 12 September at the Jack Nicklaus signature course at Serengeti Estate

The 2018 Conference also marked a very special milestone for ARC, turning 10 years old in April of the same year.

The 5th ARC Annual Conference and expo took place on 2 and 3 August 2017 at the beautiful Val de Vie 'super estate' (which now incorporates Pearl Valley), while the ARC Annual Golf Day was held on 4 August at the Pearl Valley golf course at Val de Vie.

Over 150 high-profile stakeholders belonging to the residential community industry were in attendance, the largest turnout for the event, which was held for the first time in the Western Cape. The events attracted delegates from the Free State, Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North-West, Southern and Eastern Cape and the Western Cape, as well as a selection of international participants. The conference programme covered six themed sessions over two days, with the key imperatives within each theme explored in greater detail. These interactive sessions were facilitated by experts from the residential community industry and included specialist input, panel and group discussions and lively debate.

The 2016 Conference held at Midstream Estates was something a little different to the norm. We encompassed breakaway sessions, called on our international associates, and incorporated events for the general public and residents in community associations. We hosted our golf day at the nearby Centurion Golf Estate, and the most magnificent Gala Dinner at the Royal Elephant Hotel and Conference Centre. 

2015 saw us heading to the KwaZulu Natal coast where Simbithi Estate in Ballito hosted us for our Conference and Expo on 23rd and 24th June and our Golf Day on 25th June. It was great to have several influential speakers with us, including some international speakers, as we unpacked and debated issues impacting the industry including new legislation, new structures and ongoing sustainability. International and local case studies, and success stories as well as panel discussions were included in the programme.

Ebotse Links in Benoni, Gauteng was the host for our 2014 Annual Conference and Golf Day which took place 24th to 26 June 2014.

Our keynote speakers included Clem Sunter who introduced the 'High Road for Residential Communities' theme and international speakers from the USA and Australia address us on lessons from other counties. The programme included panel sessions where we explored a number of issues from fiduciary responsibility, dispute resolution, risk, professional development, member communication and global benchmarks.

ARC's first ever conference was held at Eagle Canyon Golf Estate, in the heart of Honeydew, Gauteng. It is incredible to see how this event has grown and matured over the years, along with how the industry has developed!
